Amid violence against minorities in the country and tension in relations with india, bangladesh has contacted India. According to ANI report, bangladesh has contacted india to organise a bilateral meeting between Mohammad Yunus and indian Prime minister Narendra Modi in bangkok in the first week of April.
Actually, the leaders of both the countries can participate in the 6th BIMSTEC summit being held in bangkok from 2 to 4 April. In view of this, bangladesh has contacted to organise a meeting between the two leaders.
Bangladesh's foreign affairs advisor gave a statement
Speaking to news agency ANI, Mohammad Tauhid Hussain, foreign affairs advisor in the interim government of bangladesh, said, "We have made diplomatic contact with india to organise a bilateral meeting between the leaders of the two countries during the BIMSTEC summit." At the same time, Chief Advisor of the Interim government of bangladesh Mohammad Yunus is likely to meet with Chinese President Xi jinping on march 28 (Friday).
Mohammad Tauhid Hussain's meeting with indian Foreign Minister
According to the report, last month in February, Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Advisor Mohammad Tauhid Hussain had a meeting with indian Foreign minister S. jaishankar at the indian Ocean Conference held in Oman. Regarding this meeting, Foreign minister S. Jaishankar had said, "The meeting between the two countries was focused on bilateral relations and the issue of Bay of bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC)."
S. jaishankar wrote in a post on X, "Met Mohammad Tauhid Hussain, Foreign Affairs Advisor of the Interim government of Bangladesh. During this, we discussed bilateral relations between the two countries." At the same time, the bangladesh Foreign Ministry also issued a statement regarding this. In the statement, the bangladesh Foreign Ministry said, “Various bilateral issues were discussed between the two sides keeping in view mutual concerns and interests.”
