14 more accused arrested in nagpur violence case!

14 people were arrested on friday (March 21) in connection with the violence in Maharashtra's nagpur city earlier this week, taking the total number of people arrested in the case so far to 105. According to the police, 10 juveniles have also been detained in connection with the nagpur violence. police said that three new FIRs have also been registered in connection with the nagpur violence. On march 17, there were reports of large-scale stone pelting and arson in many parts of nagpur when a rumour spread that a sheet with a verse from the Quran was burnt during a demonstration led by the vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) demanding the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

The decision to lift the curfew will be taken after the review meeting

nagpur police Commissioner ravindra Kumar Singhal said, "14 accused have been arrested from different parts of the city in connection with the riots. Three more FIRs have been registered in connection with the riots." He said that the decision to lift the curfew from some parts of the city will be taken after a high-level review meeting.

33 policemen including DCP level officers were injured

police Commissioner Singhal held a meeting at the police Bhawan in Civil Lines to take stock of the situation. 33 policemen, including three Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) level officers, were injured during the nagpur violence. A case of sedition has been registered against the main accused Faheem Khan.

17 people in police custody till march 22

Earlier, a local court in nagpur has sent 17 people arrested in connection with the violence here to police custody till march 22 i.e. Saturday. While sending the accused to police custody, the court cited the severity of the crime and prima facie strong allegations against them.
