85-year-old murdered, policeman's son turns out to be accused?

A case of hit and run has come to light in Worli area of mumbai, where 85-year-old Balraj Parmanand Mehra, who was walking on the road, was hit by a bike rider and fled from the spot. The injured elderly man was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Where the elderly died during treatment. According to the information received from Dadar police, Balraj Mehra (businessman) was returning home on foot after seeing one of his private properties, when a high-speed bike hit him from behind and fled from the spot, after which he was admitted to a nearby hospital but he died during treatment.

Dadar police detained the driver after identifying him for questioning, however, after preliminary interrogation, instead of arresting him immediately, issued a notice and directed him to cooperate in the investigation. The case has been handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW), which is now reviewing its status. Gawkar has been booked under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the indian Penal Code, 2023 – both bailable offences.
