The Buckingham residence of the british Queen was the most gorgeous in india during the two centuries that the british dominated the country.

Neither Ambani's Antilia nor Buckingham Palace can compete with the world's largest private mansion, lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, Gujarat. Four Buckingham Palaces might fit within this enormous mansion, which occupies 700 acres. This palace has retained its magnificence until this day, and its amenities include a royal hall, 170 rooms, a large garden, a golf course, a swimming pool, and a horseback riding area.

Construction and history

Baroda State's Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad began building this palace in 1875, and it took 12 years to finish.  It was created by Charles Fellows Chisholm, a british architect.  It cost 18,000 Great britain Pounds at the time, or crores now.  It is the most expensive home in india, with an estimated current price of around Rs 24,393 crore, according to Housing.com.  The Royal Gaekwad family still resides in this palace, which is 3,04,92,000 square feet in size.

Maharaj Samarjit Singh Gaekwad and his wife, Maharani radhika Raje Gaekwad, are currently in charge of overseeing this heritage. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Pratap Singh Gaekwad has just one son, Samarjit Singh.  With 17 temple trusts and several properties located around the nation, notably in gujarat and Banaras, his total holdings come to almost Rs 20,000 crore.

In addition, Samarjit used to play cricket and represented Baroda in the Ranji Trophy.  He has two kids with his wife, radhika Raje, who attends delhi University and lives a modest life.

A portion of the palace has been transformed into a museum so that visitors may see its magnificence.  The first Mercedes Bench Patent Motorwagen from 1886, a 1934 Rolls Royce, a 1948 Bentley Mark VI, and a 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom III are among the rare vehicles owned by the Gaekwad family.  In addition to its enormous size, this palace is a priceless historical and opulent treasure.
