Now the government employees of this state are happy!

chief minister Manik Shah, while presenting the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Tripura assembly on Friday, announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for the state government employees and pensioners.

The Tripura cm said in the house that DA is being increased from 30% to 33%, which will come into effect from april 1, 2025. He said that this decision of the state government will increase the additional financial burden of about Rs 300 crore.

The government's decision brought happiness among the state government employees and salary earners waiting for the increase in allowance. Earlier, Tripura Finance minister Pranajit Singh Roy presented a budget of Rs 32,423.44 crore in the assembly.

During the budget session, detailed discussions are expected on financial allocation, development plans and policy decisions. The budget session of the thirteenth Tripura Legislative assembly for the financial year 2025-26 will run till april 1. It is believed that during this time the state budget and main legislative matters will be discussed.

Just before the session, a meeting of the business Advisory Committee was held on tuesday under the chairmanship of Speaker vishwa Bandhu Sen. The meeting was attended by Treasury Bench Ministers, Chief Whip kalyani Saha Roy and Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhary along with opposition MLAs.

Later in the evening, a separate meeting of ministers and MLAs of the ruling party was held at the official residence of chief minister Dr. Manik Saha. The budget session is considered very important in this sense because during this time, along with financial policies and development plans, legislative proposals will be shaped keeping in mind the coming financial year of the state government.
