DGGI's big action on offshore online gaming companies!

The government has taken big action against online gaming to prevent tax evasion. GST intelligence officials have blocked 357 websites/URLs of illegal online gaming companies operating from abroad as well as about 2400 bank accounts. Not only this, about Rs 126 crore has also been frozen.

Gaming companies are evading taxes

According to the information given by the Ministry of Finance on Saturday, there are 700 foreign operators of the e-gaming segment under the purview of DGGI's investigation. DGGI has found in its investigation that these gaming companies are evading taxes by not getting GST registration. Along with this, DGGI officials have also conducted their operation against some indian citizens who are running online money gaming platforms outside the country.

So far 3 have been arrested

According to the revelations made in the investigation, these people are providing online gaming facilities to the people of india through many online gaming platforms like Satguru Online Money Gaming Platform, Mahakal Online Money Gaming Platform and Abhi247 Online and are using mule bank accounts to collect money from them.

Mule bank accounts are such bank accounts which are used to hide money obtained from cyber fraud or fraudulent activities. DGGI has so far blocked 166 such mule accounts related to these platforms. So far three people have also been arrested in this case. More such people are being searched.

Big stars promote

The ministry has said that many bollywood stars, cricketers, social media influencers promote such platforms, so the public is advised to be cautious as well as avoid joining offshore online money gaming platforms.
