Social media users are thinking that Prime Video and Netflix are now attempting to transition into tv stations.  They are attempting to shift viewers from tv to OTT by providing more TV-like programming, but in the process, they are also altering and questioning the core principles of OTT.  They claim that as Prime and Netflix acquire more and more tv series and reality shows, the platforms are vying for viewers' attention by delivering TV-style material.

It isn't totally accurate, though.  The platforms cannot completely replace or mimic traditional tv, even if they have attempted to capture some of its characteristics.  TV has a totally different dna than OTT platforms, and no OTT platform can provide what traditional tv does. There is a significant difference between choosing a show and receiving one episode each day at the appointed time.  As more individuals switch from tv to OTT, they occasionally voice worries about the OTT services' incomplete comprehension of their needs.

The platforms will draw in more audiences as they acquire more content.  TV soap operas' budgets and levels of quality differ greatly from those of the platforms.  Despite purportedly having a 200 crore budget, Netflix's Heeramandi received 20 million views.  Even with a less budget, certain indian serials have a much larger fan base.  Therefore, it will likely be a while before OTT platforms eventually take the place of TV.
