American businesses are rapidly adjusting to the ongoing anti-immigrant campaign.  Local workers now have an advantage over highly skilled foreign workers in the increasingly competitive employment market.  When their employer discovered a US worker who matched the basic requirements, a techie's PERM process was abruptly stopped.

The business is currently resuming the procedure, but there is not much time left.  This delay might be catastrophic for the techie, who has only two years left on H1B.  He is currently in a panic, wondering what to do next and is filled with questions.  "My clock is ticking and unfortunately H4 EAD is not an option as my spouse is new on her H1 and she is looking for new jobs so we don't have hopes on her I140 too," he said on social media to further explain the situation.

According to netizens, a fresh PERM procedure would need hiring again and perhaps submitting a new PWD.  Additionally, there's always a chance that it will fail for the same reason again.  Although largely dependent on the law firm, the management plays a crucial role.  The process is over if even one applicant satisfies the minimal requirements.  In current economy, PERM failures are increasing in frequency.  As a result, H1B employees require a backup plan.
