In telangana, statistics show that 41% of men aged 18 to 60 drink alcohol.  The fact that telangana consumes more alcohol than states like Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and West bengal is another noteworthy aspect.  The state is attempting to profit from the rising rates of alcohol use among young people.  Telangana's strong excise revenues are a result of both high consumption and state-controlled alcoholic beverage distribution, marketing, and pricing.
