On march 27, Mohanlal's eagerly awaited lucifer sequel, L2 Empuraan, which was directed by prithviraj Sukumaran, will be released in theaters across the globe.  Given that Part 1, lucifer, was a box office hit and made almost 150 crores throughout its theatrical run, L2 Empuraan, which had a budget of nearly 400 crores, has high expectations among malayalam moviegoers.
 
Vijay's Leo, despite being a tamil film, made about 12 crores on its first day of release, setting a record for the highest-grossing film in Kerala.  According to trade experts, L2 Empuraan has a great chance of surpassing Vijay's Leo record in kerala and has the capacity to accumulate a substantial amount on its first day.  No malayalam film is expected to surpass Leo's record in the near future if L2 Empuraan doesn't.
 
However, L2 Empuraan's pre-booking has not yet opened.  Whether it will break Leo's record is pretty certain once the pre-bookings begin and pick up steam.  On march 27, it will be interesting to see if L2 Empuraan meets the expectations of viewers and becomes a huge hit.
