Mumbai Studio Where Kunal Kamra Performed Shuts Down After Attack By Sena Workers

The studio, where India's Got Latent was also shot, was ransacked by shiv sena workers late sunday night.

Mumbai's Habitat Studio, famous for comedy shows, has announced that it will temporarily shut down after a controversy over Kunal Kamaa's latest show. The studio, where India's Got Latent was also shot, was ransacked by shiv sena workers late sunday night.

In an instagram post, the studio owners said they were shocked by the vandalism. "We are shocked, worried, and extremely broken by the recent acts of vandalism targeting us. Artists are solely responsible for their views and creative choices," it said in an official statement.

A group of shiv sena workers entered the studio premises in Khar and damaged property to protest against Kamra's remarks against Shinde. Visuals on social media showed Sena workers throwing chairs at the studio.

The statement added, "We have never been involved in the content performed by any artist, but the recent events have made us rethink how we get blamed and targeted every time almost like we are a proxy for the performer."

Mumbai Studio Urges Constructive Conversations, Not Destruction

They urged constructive conversations, not destruction, to address disagreements. "We do not support hate or harm of any kind. Violence and destruction undermine the very spirit of art and dialogue," the studio added.

The studio was in the news recently as the controversial show 'India's Got Latent' hosted by Samay Raina was shot here. Raina and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia landed in soup over the latter's "objectionable" comment on the show.

Initially, the studio said it was not involved in the making of Kamra's latest video and "does not endorse the views expressed by it".

"We extend a sincere and heartfelt apology to all those hurt by this video," it said. A group of shiv sena workers entered the studio premises in Khar and damaged property to protest against Kamra's remarks against Shinde.
