Girl's ordeal in hyderabad
The trauma in the city in september 2023 was witnessed by the survivor, who is the child of Nepali migrant workers.
She was sleeping at her city house on the day of the incident when her father, who was intoxicated, sexually raped her at knifepoint.
The adolescent told her mother about the incident the next day. After finding out, the two went to the Domalguda police to lodge a complaint.
The police filed a case under the strict POCSO Act and arrested the accused in response to the allegation.
The trial started at Nampally's special court for POCSO charges.
Fight for Justice
The girl's mother became antagonistic during the trial and declined to testify against her husband, saying that she was forced to make a false complaint by hyderabad police.
The court continued to review the material notwithstanding the mother's abrupt change of position.
The accused tried to avoid accountability by claiming impotence throughout the trial. Additionally, he claimed that family domestic conflicts were the cause of the case.
The court, however, rejected the allegations, ruling that the kid had no justification for falsely accusing her own father of such a horrible crime.
The court finally condemned the father of the girl to hard labor for the rest of his natural life on march 18. The survivor also received Rs 2 lakh as payment for the anguish she had experienced.
