A Bengaluru woman upset about her businessman husband's numerous extramarital affairs and illicit ventures is accused of using sleeping medications to tamper with his food and then, with his mother's assistance, slitting his neck to end his life. The mother-daughter pair has been taken into custody by the police for the murder of Loknath Singh, a 37-year-old real estate entrepreneur.

Police said the event was discovered on saturday when a few individuals discovered the victim's body in an abandoned automobile in a desolate area of Chikkabanavara, according to an NDTV report. At 5:30 p.m. on saturday, we got a distress call on 112 alerting us to the body.  For the crime, we have taken his mother-in-law and wife into custody.  NDTV quoted North Bangalore Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Saidul Adavath as adding, "More investigation is underway."

According to the authorities, a preliminary investigation found that the accused first used sleeping medications to make the victim drowsy by adding them to his food. After that, they drove him to a remote location, cut his throat with a knife, and then ran away. The victim's reported extramarital affairs and illicit business dealings were blamed for the murder.

According to the police, Loknath and the woman had been dating for two years before getting married in Kunigal in December.  Neither side knew about the marriage, despite his family's opposition because of the age difference.  Loknath abandoned his wife at her parents' house shortly after the wedding.  Only two weeks ago did her family find out about the marriage.  The police claim that around the same time, Loknath's wife and in-laws learned of his suspected extramarital affairs and illicit business activities.

As the couple clashed constantly and even contemplated divorce, their relationship deteriorated. When Loknath allegedly started warning his in-laws of severe consequences and threatening them, things became worse, and his wife and her mother came up with a plan to kill him.  The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch was looking into Loknath in relation to a fraud case, the police added.
