Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan is proving to be a box office juggernaut even before its release, setting new records for a malayalam film in international markets. The film’s advance bookings have been nothing short of extraordinary, especially in North America, where it has already raked in an impressive $125K in premiere advance sales—making it the highest-grossing malayalam film in the region even before a single show has been screened.

In Australia, the craze continues, with L2: Empuraan surpassing Aadujeevitham’s advance booking figures by securing A$71,500, a testament to the film’s strong pre-release traction. These numbers highlight the anticipation surrounding the movie, fueled by the success of its predecessor, Lucifer, and Mohanlal’s immense fan following across the globe.

In stark contrast, salman Khan’s Sikandar appears to be struggling in its pre-release phase, with extremely low advance sales. Despite being just 10 days away from its premiere, the film has barely managed to cross $1,000 in the USA, with only around 100 tickets sold—an alarmingly low number for a salman khan starrer.

This sluggish response raises concerns about the film’s ability to generate strong opening-day collections. Adding to Sikandar’s struggles, L2: Empuraan is also leading in terms of audience engagement on BookMyShow, where it has garnered significantly more likes than Sikandar. The disparity suggests a clear difference in audience enthusiasm, with L2: Empuraan commanding the lion’s share of attention while Sikandar fights to gain momentum.
