The US-based Center for Strategic and international Studies (CSIS) has made the alarming claim that a sizable portion of the world is at war right now.

The report also noted that russia has begun waging a covert conflict against europe and the United States.  According to the report, russia is conducting espionage, sabotage, and cyberattacks against the US and Europe.  The goal is to undermine the assistance that Western nations provide to Ukraine.

Experts have questioned whether it is reasonable to presume that a third world war is engulfing a sizable portion of the globe in the wake of CSIS's assertion.  Direct conflict exists on one side, and the shadow conflict that CSIS has alluded to exists on the other.

The research claims that occurrences like undersea cable cutting, government email hacking, and explosions at military locations have escalated recently in Europe.  These attacks in europe have increased threefold, especially since 2022 (after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine).

Experts caution that russia is using these steps to scare Ukraine's friends.  In this case, things could get worse if russia fortifies its foothold in Ukraine.

Alarm Bells for NATO Allies
Russia's shadow war is a warning to NATO allies and international security, according to the Center for Strategic and international Studies (CSIS).  Russia is aiming for vital infrastructure, including transportation and energy networks, which might jeopardize systems connected to North America.

According to CSIS, cyberattacks against U.S. agencies have been conducted by organizations such as Cozy Bear.  Institutions in canada may also be impacted.  Canada may also be the target of cyberattacks because it is giving ukraine military assistance.  These assaults can target vital infrastructure or the Canadian elections.
