After a five-year hiatus, A.R. murugadoss is making a comeback as a director with Sikandar, which stars salman Khan.  In 2020, he last worked with Rajinikanth on Darbar.  Rumor has it that murugadoss may work with Shah Rukh Khan on his upcoming film.

Although SRK has not yet addressed the rumors, murugadoss discussed them in an interview, stating that he will first finish Madharasi, his upcoming tamil movie starring Sivakarthikeyan.  Despite not specifically mentioning a movie with SRK, murugadoss stated that he intends to meet with sajid nadiadwala following Sikandar and that, should "everything align," they are prepared to embark on an interesting project.

A partnership with murugadoss would be a wise decision given SRK's reputation among viewers following the success of Pathaan and Jawan.  However, the question is whether SRK is prepared to work with a director whose work has perhaps gone out of date given the current circumstances.  Through action scenes in which a hero simultaneously defeats hundreds of baddies, murugadoss has always sought to use his films to make a societal statement.  We have already seen this idea a lot in the past.

In addition, Sikandar is portraying an antiquated topic that is anticipated to perform well at the film office because of salman Khan's fame.  Even in the event that SRK and murugadoss agree to work together, the latter must write a script that will both challenge the audience and force SRK to play a role that is quite different from his comfort zone.
