A Muslim family would feel comfortable among a hundred Hindu households, but not the other way around, according to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who claimed that minorities were the safest in the state.  Adityanath, however, claimed in an ANI podcast that 50 Hindus do not feel comfortable amid 100 Muslim families, citing the recent spate of attacks on minorities and temples in bangladesh as evidence.

"Out of a hundred Hindu families, a Muslim family is the most secure.  They will be free to carry out all of their religious activities.  But among 100 Muslim families, can 50 Hindus feel safe?  No.  One example is Bangladesh.  Pakistan served as an example prior to this," the irate bjp leader stated.

Hindus have been the victim of targeted attacks since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led administration in bangladesh in august of last year, and a number of priests have also been jailed.  Islamic extremists have vandalized more than 150 temples and robbed the homes of minorities.

Adityanath, whose administration celebrated eight years in office this week, emphasized that since the bjp took power in 2017, there have been no more communal disturbances in Uttar Pradesh.  He also emphasized his desire for "everyone's happiness" as a Yogi.

Muslims are the safest in Uttar Pradesh. They are safe as long as Hindus are protected.  If Hindu stores were burning during the riots in Uttar Pradesh prior to 2017, then Muslim stores were burning as well.  Houses belonging to Muslims were burning if Hindus were.  And the rioting ceased after 2017," he added.

ON TEMPLE-MOSQUE DISPUTES
Adityanath questioned the building of mosques on "Hindu sites" and claimed it violated Islamic principles in response to temple-mosque issues that were escalating in other states.

In Sambhal, which saw a great deal of violence during a court-ordered survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid last year, he declared that the government would restore as many temples as possible.  Five persons lost their lives as a result of the violence.

"We have located 54 of the 64 pilgrimage sites in Sambhal.  We'll locate it, whatever it is.  We'll let everyone know what transpired in Sambhal."  Adityanath uttered those words.
