Devotees in india donate thousands of crores of rupees to a number of temples.  These temples get donations and prasad, among other kinds of revenue.  However, are you aware of the nation's wealthiest temple and its yearly revenue?  It is the tirumala temple in the tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.

On Monday, board chairman BR Naidu said that the tirumala tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board, which oversees the Lord Venkateshwara temple, had approved its annual budget for 2025–2026 with a projected revenue of Rs 5,258.68 crore.  For the fiscal years 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, the board projected an astounding hundi (cash chest) income of almost Rs 1,671 crore and Rs 1,729 crore, respectively.  The temple's revenue numbers are higher than the net worth of a number of well-known indian superstars, including amitabh bachchan, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.

One of the highest-paid athletes is indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli.  He also makes money from brand deals and company investments.  He is thought to be worth approximately Rs 1,000 crore.  In addition, MS Dhoni, the star of CSK and a former indian captain, has a net worth of almost Rs 1,200 crore.  Bollywood star amitabh bachchan is said to be worth Rs 1,600 crore. He reportedly bought 54,454 square feet of land in Ayodhya.  For more than 50 years, the actor has been involved in the motion picture business.

The majority of TTD's earnings, almost Rs 1,729 crore, is anticipated to come from devotees' Hundi (cash chest) contributions for the fiscal year that starts on april 1.  Additionally, it is anticipated that the sale of "prasadam" will generate close to Rs 600 crore in revenue, while interest on ttd bank deposits will total approximately Rs 1,310 crore.
