

KSLTA Stadium Renamed After S. M. Krishna
Bengaluru: The karnataka State Garden tennis Association (KSLTA) renamed its stadium as S. M. Krishna tennis Stadium here on Friday.
The statement was made in the presence of mla and President of KSLTA R. Ashoka, Prema, wife of past due Krishna, their daughters malavika and Shambhavi, IT-BT minister and Senior vice-president of the affiliation Priyank Kharge, and former doubles world No. 1 Rohan Bopanna.
"I was 19 years old when the Arena Doubles was held in Bangalore, and as a younger boy, watching so many worldwide players come into the stadium right here changed into a huge idea for me. These days, to be here seeing all the improvement and increase, and to have this iconic stadium named after him is a befitting tribute," Rohan Bopanna said at the collection.
'SM krishna guy behind establishment of heritage branch'
Similarly to the stadium's call trade, the KSLTA also supplied scholarships worth Rs 12 lakh in Krishna's name for young and upcoming tennis abilities from Karnataka.
The newly renamed stadium will host the SM krishna Memorial match, an ITF men's event, wherein athletes from 14 countries will take part. The trophy for the event was also unveiled at the event.
The qualifying rounds of the tournament can be hung on march 30 and 31, even as the principle draw kicks off on april 1. The very last can be performed on april 6.
