Newborns are protected by nurses during earthquakes...
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on friday (March 28), killing at least 1,644 people and injuring more than 3,400. Tremors of the earthquake were also felt in many neighboring countries like Thailand, china, vietnam and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, CCTV footage in a hospital in Yunnan, china showed that two nurses in the maternity ward were risking their lives to protect newborn babies, while the entire hospital was shaking due to the earthquake.
Nurses saved the lives of newborns during the earthquake
In this video going viral on social media, it can be seen that at the time of the earthquake, the ward was full of baby cribs. Due to the strong tremors, the wheeled beds started rolling here and there in the entire room. A nurse, who was sitting on the floor and holding a baby in her arms, held a cradle that was shaking so that it would not fall. Another nurse standing nearby immediately stepped in to hold two cribs so that the babies would not be harmed.
As the earthquake intensified, the water filter started shaking violently, causing water to spill on the floor. Despite slipping on the wet floor, the nurses kept trying to keep the newborns safe. The first nurse, who was being dragged on the floor due to the tremors, held the baby firmly and with the other hand was trying to prevent the cribs from colliding so that the babies would not be harmed.
