Owaisi said in a post on X: "On march 29, at 2:30 AM, Vijay Gavhane and Shriram Sagde targeted a masjid in Beed, Maharashtra, with a blast. Vijay even uploaded a video of himself using gelatin sticks. He is obviously convinced that he will be regarded as a hero. The attack shook the village's Muslims, and the mosque sustained significant damage. Shafique Bhau and Adv Khizer patel from our AIMIM team arrived on the scene and assisted in filing a formal complaint.
The police said that the explosion at Ardha Masla hamlet in Georai tehsil at around 2:30 am was caused by gelatin sticks that a guy was allegedly keeping inside the mosque. The internal part of the structure was damaged by the bomb, but no injuries were reported.
Vijay Rama Gavhane, 22, and sriram Ashok Sagde, 24, both of whom reside in Ardha Masla village, were arrested, according to Beed Superintendent of police (SP) Navneet Kanwat. The suspects have been charged, he said, and he promised that "stern action will be taken against them as per the law." To preserve peace and order, he also urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and to assist the police.
One of the detained suspects had previously taped a reel with explosives and a cigarette in his palm before putting the gelatin sticks inside the mosque, an official told news agency PTI. It's possible that Gavhane, who works in well digging, purchased the sticks from a certified vendor. Gelatin sticks are frequently used for controlled blasts in mines, quarries, and wells in rural Maharashtra.
Police have increased security in the village as a result of the incident, sending out troops to keep the peace. Before setting off the explosives, the suspects allegedly entered the mosque from the rear, according to officials. Around four in the morning, the village chief informed the Talawada police.
Senior officials and SP Kanwat hurried to the scene with a forensic science team and a bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS). The case is being looked into by the local crime branch.
According to locals, a beehive mosque is targeted during the joint celebration of Gudi Padwa and Eid.
Locals claim that during a 'Sandal' parade in the area on saturday night, a fight had broken out between two parties. During Gudi Padwa, Hindus attend the Hazrat Sayyad badshah Dargah, which is next to the mosque, as part of the village's long-standing custom of celebrating holidays together.
According to a villager, the accused tried to use gelatin sticks to target the mosque on sunday morning because it was the day of a joint observance of Gudi Padwa and ramzan Eid.
The neighborhood has banded together to rebuild the mosque in spite of the attack. "A portion inside the mosque was damaged in the blast, but locals who have lived in harmony for decades decided to repair the structure," a resident told PTI. A meeting of the peace committee was called in the morning, and another villager stated that new tiles had already been installed to repair the damaged area.
The mosque was the site of the Muslim community's afternoon prayers, where they reaffirmed their dedication to peace. social media users have been sharing a video of an old peasant making a plea for peace and harmony.
