Although cholesterol is a vital component of the body, excessive levels of it can be harmful to one's health.
 
Heart attacks claim the lives of many people each year.
 
Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, according to the WHO.  An estimated 1.80 crore individuals die from heart attacks or strokes each year.  High cholesterol is the main cause of heart attacks.
 
Additionally, conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke can be brought on by elevated cholesterol.  The main issue is that the symptoms of high cholesterol do not show up until it reaches a dangerous level. However, did you know that pain in some body areas can also indicate elevated cholesterol?


Leg discomfort & Cramps: If you experience frequent leg discomfort or cramping, particularly when walking or resting at night, this may indicate elevated cholesterol.  When the body's cholesterol levels rise, it is deposited in the arteries and blocks blood flow, which prevents oxygen from reaching the leg muscles and causes pain.
 
Signs of leg pain brought on by elevated cholesterol:  Leg pain when walking or climbing stairs, Leg cramps or stiffness during nighttime sleep, Feeling numb or cold in the feet, Leg skin color changes, such as darkening or fading, Longer healing times for wounds, Legs that are burning or tingling


When cholesterol levels rise, these organs may also experience pain:  Pain in the chest, stiffness in the shoulders and neck, Dizziness and headache
 
Control elevated cholesterol by consuming meals high in fiber.  Steer clear of fried, high-fat, and junk food.  Do yoga, exercise five times a day, or go for a walk for at least thirty minutes.
 
Give up alcohol and tobacco, increase your water intake, and see a doctor regularly.
