Salman Khan is presently preparing for the march 30 international theatrical release of Sikandar, which is directed by AR murugadoss and is an Eid special. According to a lot of rumors, salman khan recently narrated a script by Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy. salman reportedly enjoyed the story, and talks regarding a possible partnership are still going on.

But even before it is out, Sikandar is already receiving a lot of negative feedback.  With only three days till the release, pre-bookings are still dreadfully low, and critics claim that the teaser and trailer were unimpressive.  Sikandar is having trouble selling even 1,000 tickets per hour on BookMyShow, according to a trade expert, underscoring the paucity of excitement surrounding the movie.

Salman's next movie was first rumored to be directed by Atlee, however he has now committed to a project with Allu Arjun.  Although there is yet no formal confirmation, this has caused salman to turn his attention to Rajkumar Periasamy.  Whether this project will succeed and whether Periasamy can provide salman with some much-needed relief following a run of disappointing movies are still up in the air.

Reviews of salman Khan's Eid release were mediocre at first.  The bloated actioner, which rotates between rajkot and Mumbai, also aims to be salman Khan's Jawan, according to film reviewer Saibal Chatterjee, who gave it two stars out of five.  It ends up fluffing its lines because it opens too many fronts for its own good.
