Scheduling an appointment for a US visa in india is already a hassle, and it has gotten worse due to bots that steal spots from legitimate candidates. At last, the authorities have intervened. 2,000 visa appointments were canceled by the US Embassy in india after scammers were discovered to have taken over the system.

The embassy declared that these "bad actors" violated scheduling restrictions and manipulated reservations using bots.  Now, their accounts are suspended.  This represents a positive move.  Reducing fraud will prevent applicants from being taken advantage of.

Let's not pretend that the system is repaired, though.  The true problem still exists, as thousands of indians endure years-long wait times and unending delays.  Two thousand cancellations hardly scratch the surface as more indian applications overwhelm the system each year.

Internet users are thrilled about this change, but they also want to know if other people will be able to use the slots that have been made accessible.  However, the embassy has yet to provide a definitive response.  Fake H-1B registrations are among the many forms of visa fraud in india that the US is still fighting. However, indian applicants will still have to contend with a flawed system in the absence of significant improvements and repairs.
