In the 18th IPL season, punjab Kings achieved back-to-back road wins, winning both of their first games for the fourth time in the league's history. They dominated the lucknow Super Giants on tuesday with a decisive eight-wicket victory, moving up to the second position in the points standings after defeating the gujarat Titans in a thrilling match last month.

Following Tuesday's game at Ekana Stadium, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka approached PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, who had scored the game-winning fifty, and hugged him before engaging in a long conversation. social media fans were alarmed by the sight, with some believing Goenka was attempting to persuade Iyer to leave punjab and join Lucknow.

Pant, who was acquired for INR 27 crore at the auction last year, 25 lakhs more than Iyer, lost the fight of the two highest acquisitions in IPL history.  Since the season began, this was LSG's second defeat in three games.  He was dismissed for just two runs off five runs, resulting in yet another batting disaster.  In three innings thus far, he has only scored 17 runs off 26 balls.

Similar to the first game, when lucknow lost a dramatic last-over match against delhi Capitals, leaving fans anticipating a recurrence of a KL rahul scenario, Goenka spoke with pant after speaking with Iyer.  Throughout the conversation, Goenka was observed pointing his finger at pant several times.
