24 scenes cut from ‘Empuraan’ movie..!?

Mohanlal’s film ‘Empuraan’ has been mired in controversy, with 24 scenes removed, including suresh Gopi’s name removal and scenes of violence against women. A total of 24 scenes have been removed and edited from the Mohanlal-Prithviraj starrer ‘Empuraan’ after facing several controversies. Notably, Union minister suresh Gopi’s name has been removed from the film’s thank you card. All scenes of violence against women have also been removed. Additionally, scenes of vehicles passing in front of religious symbols have been cut. A scene mentioning the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also been removed.
The main villain's character has also been changed. His name has been changed from Bajrangi to Baldev. Initially, there were reports that seventeen scenes would be removed, but the re-edited censor document shows that more changes have been made. Responding to the controversy, producer Antony Perumbavoor clarified that the re-editing process was done with the full consent of everyone involved and not due to external pressure. He stressed that it is their responsibility to rectify any wrongdoings and that prithviraj should not be blamed or singled out. Although murali Gopi did not share the facebook post publicly, Antony confirmed that they are firm on their stand.
But on the bright side, Empuraan has been a significant success at the box office. It has surpassed the 2018 film (starring Tovino Thomas) in five days to become the highest-grossing film. The 2018 film collected Rs 175.4 crore, but Empuraan crossed that figure in its first week itself. The film has officially entered the 200-crore club, making it Mohanlal's first 200-crore collection. In 6 days, it is leading with a collection of 240 crores.
