Form of Yamraj
Yamraj is the deity of death, whose role it is to transport the soul from this world to the next, according to religious traditions. The buffalo pulls the holy chariot on which he rides. He is holding a noose (rope) and a mace, which he uses to capture the soul. Despite his frightening appearance, Yamraj is a just being who judges the creature's actions and assigns it to either heaven or hell. An unconscious vision of Yamraj is likely to occur one month before death. However, only individuals whose souls are getting ready to go from this world experience this vision.
Indications before death
Numerous changes take place in the body and psyche before death, according to indian scriptures and folk beliefs. Here are a few key indicators:
Dreaming of Yamraj or other miraculous occurrences
It may indicate that a person's death is imminent if he or she frequently sees Yamraj, a buffalo, or a dark cave in their dreams.
Aberrant facial changes
A person's face may lose its radiance a month before they pass away. The skin begins to appear withered or pallid. The eyes begin to lose their luster.
Changes in conduct
There can be an abrupt shift in the individual's behavior. He could wish to isolate himself and distance himself from worldly concerns.
Separation from water and food
A dying person frequently loses interest in food and drink. He becomes less hungry and thirsty with time.
Separation from cherished ones
Abruptly, the individual begins to live apart from his loved ones. He feels as though he has left this world.
Strange physical sensations
Before passing away, a person experiences odd bodily sensations as tingling, vibrations, or a heavy feeling.
Animal and avian behavior
Animals and birds might occasionally also be signs of death. It is deemed unlucky if a dog suddenly begins barking or a crow keeps flying around a person's home.
What to do?
Instead of becoming alarmed if you or a loved one is experiencing these symptoms, recite the name of god and concentrate on adoration. The soul is at ease when the Gita, Ramayana, or other sacred works are recited. Helping others and trying to enhance one's karma are also important. There is no escaping death; it is a fact of existence. We are reminded to constantly conduct our lives with good acts by Yamraj and the indications that precede death. The path after death can also be simple if you are aware of these indicators and work toward inner calm.
