Trump's most recent action has made immigration waits intolerable, if you already thought they were terrible. As people share their stories, the recently signed executive order, "One Voice for America's Foreign Relations," is upending the system. The directive grants the Secretary of State the final say in implementing the foreign policy of the President. Stricter immigration laws have resulted from this, making life more difficult for families—particularly those who are applying for their wives' Green Cards.

Interviews are now necessary in every case, without exception, which is causing enormous backlogs. In order to prevent hiring more employees to deal with the delays and additional strain this regulation will place on the system, USCIS also imposed a hiring freeze on february 14.  On february 18, visa interview waivers were strengthened as if that weren't enough.  It's almost hard to skip an in-person interview these days.

According to people, processing durations have increased to 17–23 months. Some couples are attempting to obtain tourist visas in order to bring spouses sooner, but this is a dangerous strategy because approvals are infrequent.  K-3 visas are being considered by others who want quicker outcomes. There is no assurance of success, though, because the current system is in disarray. trump seems unconcerned about any of these problems. In addition to disregarding the problems faced by immigrants, the government is now actively working to ensure that applicants endure even more bureaucratic agony.
