On february 28, a 2-year-old girl from Narasarapettai in Palnadu district of andhra pradesh was fed a small piece of raw chicken by her parents. The child's father works in a private bank. Her mother is a housewife. Shortly after eating the chicken, the child developed severe health complications including shortness of breath and diarrhea. The parents first took the girl to a local hospital. Later, as her condition deteriorated, they were taken to AIIMS for advanced treatment. The girl, who was admitted to the hospital on march 4 with symptoms of bird flu, died on march 16. Medical tests revealed that the child died of bird flu. The National Institute of Virology in pune and the Institute of Virology Research in guntur confirmed that the child had bird flu.
All district medical and health officials have been ordered to conduct flu tests in the affected areas. health officials said that the public should not panic. Other family members who ate cooked chicken are healthy. We have tested blood samples of others who bought chicken from the chicken shop where the child ate.
