On april 2, at around 1:30 am, a woman was raped close to Bengaluru's KR Puram train station.  When the attack happened, the victim, who had been working in kerala and was traveling to Bihar, had just arrived at the station with her brother.
 
Two males approached them when they were going to Mahadevapura to grab dinner. While one pulled the victim to a remote location and attacked her, the other restrained the victim's brother. A police statement claims that the victim was sexually abused by one of the two autorickshaw drivers who were sitting close by after they had attacked her brother.

When locals heard the woman's pleas for assistance, they apprehended one of the culprits, turning him over to the authorities. Both drivers were promptly taken into custody by Mahadevapura police officers on night patrol.  The Mahadevapura police station has received a case.

Asif and Syed Mushar, who both hail from Mulabagilu in the Kolar region of Karnataka, were named as the suspects. According to the Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of police, Syed Mushar allegedly restrained the victim's brother, and Asif was charged with sexual assault. More details are awaited in this regard.
