The parliament is now involved in the dispute surrounding the movie L2 Empuraan, which starred prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal.  In response to the 24 cuts made to the movie, bjp MP-actor suresh Gopi stated that no team member was "pressured" into making the modifications.  What he said is as follows.

In the rajya sabha on Thursday, mp John Brittas asserted that the movie was subjected to "political pressure" since it showed the gujarat riots of 2002.  "A matter of fact...which is the only truth, which I have to let indian nationals know," suresh remarked in response to his assertions. The creators of Empuraan were not subject to censorship pressure.

"I was the first person to call the producers and ask them to delete my name from the thank you card at the beginning of the film," suresh added, claiming that his name was taken off the film's thank-you card during the cuts. This is the reality. If this turns out to be untrue, I'm willing to accept whatever consequence. The decision to cut out 17 scenes from the movie was made by the chief actor and the producers, with the director's approval.

The politician and actor has previously discussed the movie.  According to ANI, he told reporters, "All right, so what's the controversy?  Who started the dispute?  Everything is business.  Making money and destroying people's mental health, that's all.
