Promoting kesari Chapter 2 as Akshay Kumar's "best performance so far" and "proudest film till date," karan johar is going all out. However, while Johar's enthusiasm is clear, the audience's reaction is ambivalent. The account of barrister C. Sankaran Nair's legal battle against the british and the Jallianwala Bagh atrocity is compelling.  On the other hand, its box office chances are seriously questioned.

Akshay Kumar's recent string of box office failures is one of the issues.  With a string of failures including Selfiee, Raksha Bandhan, and Samrat Prithviraj, the public appears to be questioning his capacity to produce successful songs.  "Don't blame the audience or anybody else," Akshay said, acknowledging that his choice was incorrect.  It is entirely my fault.

Furthermore, general viewers that prefer lighter or more action-oriented content might not find historical courtroom dramas appealing due to their dramatic and specialist nature.  Even while the teaser has received praise for its emotional resonance and intensity, history-based tales typically fail to thrill the general public unless they are supported by strong star power or captivating content.

Johar's attempt to franchise familiarity is seen in his decision to make the movie under the title kesari Chapter 2, linking it to the well-liked 2019 war movie Kesari.  However, it remains to be seen if this is able to overcome consumer fatigue.  The real test will be if akshay kumar can break out of his rut and produce a film that lives up to Johar's boasts.
