After her mother, brother, and Aranmanai star prashant Motwani were charged with domestic abuse and other offenses by her former sister-in-law, television actress Muskan Nancy James, hansika motwani made headlines. In december 2022, Muskan and prashant ended their previous marriage. Hansika has now filed a case in the bombay high court in an attempt to get the accusations against her dropped.

According to Hansika's petition, her former sister-in-law filed a malicious FIR after demanding the return of Rs 27 lakh that she had borrowed for Muskan and Prashant's wedding. The Koi Mil Gaya actress said she was never paid back for the money she used to pay wedding planners.

She further maintained that Muskan's criminal case was only a fabricated story about the marital conflict between Muskan and her brother, Prashant. "The allegations against the petitioner are baseless, motivated, and arise out of domestic disputes that have been exaggerated to bring them under the purview of criminal prosecution," Hansika pleaded, according to Times Now.

Hansika further stated that Muskan Nancy James' complaint was made only to put pressure on her during the ongoing conflict and that she has no direct participation in her brother's marital problems.
