China gave a befitting reply to Trump's tariff...

US President donald trump on wednesday (April 2, 2025) announced to impose tariffs on 57 countries of the world. However, later Trump has also changed the tariff rate while giving relief to some countries. Meanwhile, china on friday (April 4, 2025) retaliated against America and decided to impose an additional 34 percent duty on all products imported from there. This has been done in response to US President Donald Trump's decision to impose a 34 percent duty on exports from China.

China's action on 16 US companies

According to the report of news agency Xinhua, these duties will be imposed on American goods from april 10. After the US imposed retaliatory tariffs on trading partners, China has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO). china has also decided to ban the export of dual-use goods to 16 US companies.

China opposed the US

The Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson said on thursday (3 april 2025) that China strongly opposes the US tariff and will protect its interests by taking retaliatory action. donald trump has imposed a strict tariff of 34 percent on his major trading partner China. The US tariff may further shock China's economy as it is already grappling with problems like debt crisis in the real estate sector and declining consumption.

Increasing tariff is not a solution - China

China said, "The US claims that it has suffered losses in international trade, so reciprocal tariffs will be imposed on all trading partners on the pretext of alleged equality. The US concluded reciprocal tariffs based on its unilateral evaluation, which is not in accordance with international trade rules. Increasing tariffs will not solve America's question. It harms America's own interests, global economic development, production and supply chain stability."

Trump on wednesday announced a 34 percent tariff on imports of Chinese goods as part of a sweeping Emancipation Day package aimed at overhauling US trade policy. The decision takes the total tariff on Chinese goods entering the US to 54 percent.
