Some things are better left extinct. In "Jurassic World Rebirth," Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and scarlett johansson are going to learn that.  As part of Universal's presentation to theater owners at CinemaCon on Wednesday, a new teaser for the franchise remake was unveiled. It included the kind of dinosaur carnage that has made the series a multibillion-dollar phenomenon.

A daring effort to steal a quetzalcoatlus' eggs culminates in a high-flying escape.  Add a mosasaur attack that almost topples a team of researchers and their armed guides' boat.  Include a mutant dinosaur that resembles a steroidal T-Rex in some way.  A cute infant triceratops also makes an appearance for viewers who aren't as bloodthirsty.  The creature only becomes alarmed because, you got it, a far more dangerous primeval beast is hungry and only our brave heroes would provide it.

During Universal's presentation, Johansson declared her admiration for the series.  Being in a "Jurassic" film has been a lifelong goal. Just before revealing the new clip, she remarked, "I've been reaching out and saying I'm available here for the last 15 years."

The filmmaker, Gareth Edwards, said, "She's too expensive."

Johansson didn't take any chances this time and contacted Steven Spielberg, the franchise's godfather and the director of the original movie.

Johansson remarked, "I told him I'd play any role even if I'm eaten in the first five minutes."

"Warning about spoilers," Edwards interrupted.

The movie, which is set five years after the events of 2022's "Jurassic World Dominion," shows dinosaurs fighting for their lives as a result of changing environmental conditions.  On an island that originally housed the original Jurassic Park research facility, a few species are still present.  In the trailer, a character says, "Only the worst ones are here."

A group of scientists set out on a top-secret expedition to attempt and collect dna from the dinosaurs that can be used to produce a life-saving medication, despite the high likelihood that they will be torn to pieces by velociraptors.  or anything like, since the science of things isn't why people watch these films.  They want to watch a T-Rex devour a large number of people.
