Ram Navami in West Bengal: jai Shri ram echoed!

The festival of ram Navami has started in West bengal on sunday morning with processions and slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram'. During this, lakhs of devotees thronged the streets. Extensive security arrangements have been made here. Security has been tightened in the state to maintain law and order during the ram Navami festival. A festive atmosphere is seen on the streets. Saffron flags, devotional music and tableaux depicting scenes from the Ramayana are adding to the grandeur of the festival.

More than 60 processions are scheduled to be organized in kolkata alone. For this, about 4,000 to 5,000 policemen have been deployed. Senior officers of the Deputy Commissioner and Joint Commissioner rank have been entrusted with the task of monitoring security on the routes of the processions. bjp state unit chief Sukanta Majumdar said, "Lakhs of people are expected to attend the various events organised on ram Navami. I will urge the state government to make arrangements so that the festival can be celebrated peacefully. Any attempt to forcibly stop the celebrations will not be tolerated. ram Navami will be celebrated, no matter what you do."

Leader of Opposition in the house Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the ram temple in his Nandigram constituency and has also organised events in Howrah and east Medinipur. BJP-affiliated Hindu organisations, including the vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Jagran Manch, are also organising processions in West Bengal. Meanwhile, the ruling trinamool congress in the state has accused the bjp of trying to give a communal colour to the occasion.

Trinamool congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, "The bjp is trying to turn ram Navami into a political event. They are not in the politics of development, but want to do politics in the name of religion and create unrest. bengal will not tolerate this." police sources said that drones and CCTVs are being used extensively to monitor all the processions. Quick response teams have also been deployed at sensitive places like Entali, Kosipur, Khidderpur and Chitpur in Kolkata.
