A video of a madhya pradesh forest department driver giving water to thirsty cheetahs has gone viral on the internet.  However, the driver is now in hot water for what many perceived as a sweet act of cooperation.  After his video went viral, he was suspended from his work, according to a Times of india story.

The Viral Video
A family of cheetahs was seen resting in the shade of a tree in a video that surfaced on social media over the weekend.  With a jerrycan of water in his hand, a villager who would later be identified as Satyanarayan gurjar, a driver for the forest department, approached the cheetah family with caution.

Gurjar halted a few steps from the cheetahs and filled a steel plate with water.  "Come, come," several off-camera individuals could be heard saying.  The cheetahs arose and came straight to Gurjar.  After that, they were observed consuming water from the plate.

According to reports, the video was shot in a village outside of Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park.

Only two weeks had passed since the villagers had stoned the cheetah Jwala and her four cubs before this incredible encounter.  Many referred to it as a touching moment that portended a future of harmonious cohabitation.  The forest department, however, had a different perspective.

Officers from the Kuno Forest Division attended the scene after the video went viral and fired Satyanarayan gurjar from his job as a department driver, according to the Times of India.

Forest officials worry that cheetahs may become overly accustomed to people and go into neighborhoods.

"The recent act of offering water symbolizes a growing understanding and shift in behaviour. The villagers, perhaps realizing that the cheetahs were not inherently a threat but part of the region's natural ecosystem, chose to approach the situation differently this time. But again, we would not want them to get this close and develop any bond like this," a forest department official said.
