Users are being advised to update to the most recent version of google Chrome immediately after the central government identified serious security flaws in earlier iterations.

Older versions of the google Chrome web browser have security flaws that might let hackers install harmful code on users' computers and possibly launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack, according to the indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In).

These users are in danger.

All google Chrome versions before 134.0.6998.88/.89 on Windows and Mac, and all versions before 134.0.6998.88 on Linux systems, are vulnerable to these vulnerabilities, according to the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's CERT-In. Users should update their google Chrome browsers as soon as possible to stay safe.

How to update google Chrome?

You can manually update to the latest version of google Chrome by following these steps:
Click on the three dots on the top right side of the google Chrome browser.
Click 'Settings', and then 'Help'.
A new menu will pop up, click 'About google Chrome'.
A new tab will open listing the latest version of the browser, if available.
Chrome will present you with the option to manually download/install the latest version.
After installation is finished, restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
Additionally, check automatic updates in the settings menu so that the browser can install automatic updates whenever available.

Notably, CERT-In had already identified several vulnerabilities in Google's ChromeOS, which powers the Chromebook.  The organization has issued a warning that these security flaws would provide hackers remote access to a user's Chromebook, giving them the ability to eavesdrop on unsuspecting users.
