With his most recent assault on immigration, trump has once again dealt indian techies a severe blow.  His "temporary" Green Card freeze is viewed as just another pretext for preventing lawful immigrants from entering the United States.  Indian H-1B workers are aware of the situation on the ground, even though the freeze mostly affects refugees and asylees.  In his ongoing campaign against highly skilled immigrants, this is just one more move.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), it has to do with "extra screening."  But according to indian techies, this is a planned action to stop legal migration under the guise of security.  Speaking about this arbitrary freeze, one immigration lawyer stated, "This could mean years of delays and uncertainty."  The method has made the American ideal even more unattainable for Indians, who already have to endure ridiculously lengthy Green Card wait times—sometimes lasting decades.

H-1B and other immigration regulations have already been tightened by the administration.  This freeze now makes it quite evident that immigrants are not welcome, legal or not.  Delays in visa processing mean career suicide for many indian techies.  Their entire future could be ruined in an instant by a single change in policy.

For good cause, community anxiety is at an all-time high.  Reports of visa rejections and impending deportations are exacerbating this psychological suffering.  Indian techies are seeing their American dream obstructed because there is no indication of when this "temporary" freeze on Green Card will expire. For its international workforce, the US, a country that once offered opportunity, now just offers additional problems, fear, and anxiety.
