There have been conflicting reactions ever since Fawad Khan's name was revealed for the upcoming bollywood romance Abir Gulaal. Now, a fresh wave of criticism has started nationwide following the formal release of its trailer. Due to the circumstances surrounding the 2016 uri incident, Pakistani actors were essentially prohibited from working in India. Later on, though, the request for this prohibition was denied.
 
This worry was also discussed by Ridhi Dogra, who starred in Abir Gulaal.  She claimed that she checked to see if working with a Pakistani actor was legal before beginning this movie.  However, the entertainment business was not subject to such a requirement.  Shiv Sena and MNS, however, have already stated that they will not permit this movie to be released in Maharashtra.
 
There is also disagreement among netizens on this issue; some believe that artists should be let to work regardless of their nationality, while others find it objectionable that a Pakistani actor would work in India.  After the teaser was released, fawad khan fans in india were ecstatic and celebrated the comeback of their favorite bollywood star after nine years.
