At a meeting with a group of fired educators on monday at Kolkata's Netaji Indoor Stadium, West bengal chief minister mamata banerjee promised to support them and guarantee that qualified applicants would not be left without jobs.  The annulment of 25,752 school job appointments made through the 2016 West bengal school service Commission (WBSSC) recruitment was affirmed by the supreme court the day before the development.

"Please don't think that we've agreed to it.  Speaking to those who lost their employment as teaching and non-teaching personnel at West bengal government-run and aided schools due to a supreme court ruling, West bengal chief minister mamata said, "We are not stone-hearted, and I could even be jailed for saying this, but I don't care."

"We have separate plans to ensure that eligible candidates do not experience a break in service or lose their jobs," she continued. Having my name attached to something I don't know anything about.

Thousands of instructors were fired as a result of widespread fraud and irregularities in the hiring process, according to the highest court's april 3 ruling. mamata banerjee said the finding was unfair to worthy candidates, but she has promised to follow the court's decision.

"We are victims of a system we had no hand in manipulating," one of the instructors who was fired, Yasmin Parveen, stated outside the venue.  "We need nothing but our jobs back."

Twenty teachers, who were a part of a group mamata herself formed, and West bengal education minister Bratya Basu joined the chief minister on stage.  The opposition has criticized the action.
