According to reports, Muskan Rastogi, who was imprisoned and charged with killing her husband Saurabh Rajput in meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is expecting a child. According to an india Today article, her positive test result was verified on Monday.

On march 4, Rastogi and her partner Sahil Shukla are accused of stabbing Rajput to death, then slicing his body into several pieces and concealing it inside a drum filled with cement.

At the meerut district jail, the two defendants are housed in different barracks.  A local court prolonged their judicial custody for an additional 14 days last week.

Ashok Kataria, the chief medical officer, confirmed on monday that Rastogi's pregnancy test result was positive, according to the india Today article. The chief minister's office had previously received a letter from the jail administration asking for Rastogi to undergo a medical examination. A district hospital team was dispatched to the jail in response.

Rastogi and Shukla met in person for the first time since their arrest last week.  Any communication between the two accused has been rigorously forbidden by the jail administration.

According to sources cited by PTI, Rastogi broke down when she met her partner during her video conference court appearance.

Meerut Murder
When shocking information from the case's investigation surfaced, the alleged murder of Rastogi and Shukla rocked the nation.

Following the purported murder, the two had also traveled to Himachal Pradesh.

According to the investigation, Rastogi had been plotting her husband's murder since november 2023 and allegedly tricked Sahil Shukla into committing the crime by using a phony Snapchat account to pose as his mother, who had passed away.

Furthermore, Saurabh Rajput's murder was committed with tremendous cruelty, according to the postmortem report.  According to the autopsy report, his legs were twisted backwards, his head was severed from the body, and both hands were severed at the wrist, indicating an attempt to fit the body into the drum. Shock and severe hemorrhage were the causes of his death.
