This year, kiara advani will make her Met Gala debut. In February, the actress revealed that she was expecting her first child with her husband, Sidharth Malhotra. Advani made her Cannes red Carpet debut last year at the red Sea Film Foundation's women in cinema Gala Dinner, wearing a pink and black Nedret Taciroglu gown in the style of Old Hollywood, complete with lace accents. 

Priyanka Chopra, deepika Padukone, and alia bhatt are among the other bollywood celebrities who have walked the Met Gala red carpet before.  Last year, the Highway heroine wore a specially designed Sabyasachi sari, making her the sole indian actor to appear on the red carpet.
 
Understand the theme of the Met Gala 2025
The renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City will host this year's Met Gala on May 5 and is already looking to be one of the most diverse and significant events yet.  The 2025 theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," pays homage to the rich history of Black fashion and the significant impact tailoring has had on the development of Black identity, creativity, and self-expression.
 
Monica L. Miller, a professor at Barnard College, is the inspiration for the theme. Her book Slaves to fashion examines the cultural and political effects of the so-called "Black dandyism"—a fashion movement that emphasizes individuality and resistance—turning it into something visually arresting and socially significant.

The Costume Institute is focusing its big spring show exclusively on Black designers for the first time in its history. Menswear will be given particular attention, something the institute hasn't done in more than two decades.
