Tamil Nadu: congress leader Kumari Ananthan, father of bjp leader Sundararajan, dies; Stalin-Kanimozhi pay tribute


Senior congress leader and famous tamil language speaker Kumari Ananthan (92) died on wednesday at around 12.15 am. He struggled to address the parliament in tamil language and was successful in it. He is survived by a son and four daughters in the family.


Senior congress leader Kumari Ananthan, father of bjp leader tamilisai soundararajan in tamil Nadu, died at the age of 93. Puducherry chief minister N. Rangasamy and former chief minister v narayanasamy also expressed grief over the death of senior congress leader Kumari Ananthan on Wednesday. In his condolence message, Rangasamy praised Ananthan as a 'champion of tamil language'. He said Ananthan contributed immensely to the promotion of Tamil language, culture and welfare of Tamils. He was a great patriot who always advocated for the rights of Tamils. The chief minister said his demise was a great loss for the tamil community. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.

Meanwhile, former chief minister and senior congress leader V Narayanasamy in his condolence message heaped praise on Kumari Ananthan. He described Ananthan as selfless and said she had close ties with former prime minister Indira gandhi and congress stalwart K Kamaraj. Narayanasamy said she contributed immensely to the promotion of the tamil language and recalled her close ties with Ananthan on several occasions.
