AC Helmets for Traffic Police..!? How Does It Work?

Temperatures crossing forty degrees is not a normal thing. Can you imagine the situation of the police who stand on the roads where the common man is shivering and controlling traffic? To provide some relief to their hardship, the technology sector has come forward with a new innovation. That is the 'AC Helmet'! delhi police will soon provide these cool helmets to their personnel. So how do these helmets work? Where did they come from? Let's find out! traffic police in the national capital delhi no longer need to suffer from the scorching sun. AC helmets specially designed for them are coming. These helmets reduce the outside temperature by 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, making them comfortable. Already, police in cities like Uttar Pradesh, Chennai, and vadodara have achieved good results using this technology.
Unlike ordinary helmets, these AC helmets come with a special design. They are equipped with a small ventilator. It filters the hot air outside and sends cool air inside the helmet. To provide power to this, a small Li-ion battery pack is attached to the waist of the police. A red light lights up when the battery is low, then it needs to be charged. This helmet works for about 2-3 hours once charged. Since it weighs only 200 grams, the police will not have any problem. Moreover, it also has a plastic shield to protect the eyes from the sun's rays. Its price in the market currently ranges from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 15,000.

There is no exact information about who made the world's first AC helmet. According to some reports, in 2023, Louisiana State university designed such helmets for their football players. They provided cool air for about 5 hours. According to some other reports, in 2021, a company called NIA Limited from Dubai, in collaboration with Jarsh Limited from India, made the first AC safety helmet. However, some say that a company called Feher Research was the first to put a cooling system in the helmet. Currently, these are being used experimentally by the police in states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and delhi in India. These helmets are very useful for the police in our country as well as in Dubai.
