
The state bank of india (SBI) has announced a substantial change to its ATM usage guidelines that will take effect on february 1, 2025, which is a big upgrade for millions of account holders. This modification affects ATM balance queries as well as cash withdrawals.

The bank has also updated its costs for violating these limits:
You will be required to pay Rs 15 + GST at sbi ATMs and Rs 21 + GST at other banks' ATMs if you take out more money than the free transaction limit. Additionally, there won't be any fees if you use the sbi ATM to check your balance or view your mini statement. However, you will be required to pay Rs 10 + GST if you do this at an ATM operated by another bank.

SBI will impose a penalty of Rs 20 + GST if the transaction fails and there is less money in your account. There has been no modification made to this regulation, which is currently in effect.
