As paramilitary forces walked the empty streets on sunday, scenes of devastation could be seen in many areas of Bengal's violent Murshidabad district. The calcutta High court stated on saturday that it "cannot turn a blind eye to reports of vandalism in a few districts of West Bengal" and ordered the deployment of paramilitary forces in extremely sensitive regions.
 
At least three people were murdered, according to authorities on saturday, as the violence that broke out during friday prayers continued into a second day.  Following nighttime raids, police reported that 12 further persons were arrested on sunday in connection with the incident, bringing the total number of arrests to 150.  Additionally, police said that there is peace in the Suti, Dhulian, Samserganj, and Jangipur areas. While the leader of the Opposition in bengal alleged that Hindus were "not safe" in the state.

• According to the local police, internet access has been blocked to combat fake news, and prohibitory orders under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita are still in effect in the impacted districts three days after the violence started.  Bengal top officer rajeev Kumar issued a warning on saturday, saying that one of the main reasons for the violent protests was rumor-mongering. As officials continue to look into violent episodes, the police said on sunday that further arrests are anticipated.  They are also monitoring critical regions and checking vehicles on major roads.

Another local told india Herald, "My wife and my kids were in fear," after their shop in Dhulian was vandalized.  They asked me to stay inside.  Don't go out, Dad," he said.  Suvendu Adhikari of the bjp asserted that during the friday riots, at least 35 Hindu stores were set on fire in Dhulian.
