Vaishnavi chaitanya was barely known to the general public two years prior to the premiere of Baby. Despite playing Allu Arjun's sister in the popular film Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, she didn't receive much credit for the part. But with Baby, everything was different. The movie was a surprise hit and nearly made ₹100 crores at the box office, which shocked the box office industry.

Vaishnavi's performance garnered more notice than her box office success.  Many believed that no one else could have adequately portrayed the challenging role of a girl torn between two boyfriends in the nuanced way that she did.

Vaishnavi appears to be having trouble upholding that image, though, given her recent employment decisions.  She signed love Me – If You Dare under dil Raju's brand in the hopes of capitalizing on Baby's success, possibly having more faith in the banner than the screenplay.  Regretfully, the movie was a complete failure.

Jack, which was directed by bommarillu Bhaskar and produced by the major league banner SVCC, followed, opposite siddhu Jonnalagadda.  On paper, it seemed intriguing because Vaishnavi was playing a "lady detective," which seemed novel.  However, the character was unimpressive on screen, and viewers didn't connect with the movie either.

Even though she may not be solely to blame for these failures, it is obvious that she needs to be more picky going future, paying particular attention to good scripts rather than bold combos or banners.  She and anand deverakonda are now working on a new movie under Sitara Entertainments, which is being directed by Aditya Hasan, who is famous for his Middle Class Biopics from the 1990s.  The producer even alluded to the fact that her character in the upcoming movie has gray areas during the Jack pre-release event.

Expectations are naturally high because Baby's lead couple is getting back together.  It remains to be seen if this project will provide Vaishnavi with the much-needed second break.
