A movie's box office performance can occasionally deviate significantly from the reviews it receives. The collections can nonetheless be outstanding even in cases where the reviews are conflicting or the audience's reaction isn't entirely favorable. In this context, two recent instances are noteworthy.

L2: Empuraan is the first.  The enormous collections arrived because of Mohanlal's reputation and the franchise's high brand value, even though it lacks Lucifer's punch and content.  In Kerala, the movie has now taken the top place. It remained resilient in the face of criticism and controversy.  It's interesting to note that L2 got a lackluster reception in telugu and other languages.

Good Bad Ugly serves as the second illustration.  Fans of ajith are going crazy with his retro avatar.  Fans are enjoying it in spite of its nonsensical plot, odd characterizations, overabundance of old-film allusions, and a loud background music score.  The film is rapidly approaching its goal of becoming tamil Nadu's highest grossing film of the year.

It has already surpassed the premieres of Beast, Leo, and Jailer, and it's still amazing to watch how a movie that hasn't received overwhelmingly favorable reviews is receiving so widespread praise.  Similar to L2, this one performs mediocrely in other language variants but excels in Tamil.

The power of star presence is this.  Similar situations have also been observed in telugu films.  Despite the box office failures of films like sardaar gabbar singh and Agnyaathavaasi, fans continue to discuss the first-day numbers.  Despite conflicting opinions, guntur Kaaram even turned out to be profitable in some places. For instance, Devara exceeded ₹500 crores despite early mixed reviews, largely due to Jr. NTR's widespread appeal.

With the correct content, our stars can work their magic.  Pushpa 2 is the best example, demonstrating that when captivating content and star power are combined, the possibilities are endless.
