4 students who are giving a tough time to Trump...?
An indian student and three other foreign students in the US state of Michigan have filed a case in the court against the cancellation of their student visa (F-1 status). These include Chinmay Deore from India, two students from China, Jiangyun Bu and Qi Yang, and yogesh Joshi from Nepal.
These students say that the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Immigration (ICE) cancelled their visa status without giving any information and without any valid reason. They said that their status in the SEVIS system, which keeps information about international students in the US, was suddenly and wrongly cancelled. Therefore, they have now filed a case against it in the federal court.
Know what is the whole matter
These four students who went to study in the US have said in the court that their student visa was suddenly cancelled, but before that they neither received any notice nor were given any reason. They say that they have not committed any crime nor have they violated the immigration rules. They have never been involved in any political activity. The students also said that some had received only minor traffic challans or warnings, but such cases cannot be considered a reason for cancelling the visa.
ACLU issued a statement
The American Civil Liberties Union Michigan (ACLU), an organization helping the students, has said that this action of the government is wrong and illegal. In this case, ACLU lawyer Ramis Wadud said that such strict and wrong policies of the government not only affect the lives of students but also tarnish the image of the American education system. He said that if such incidents continue to happen, then in future international students may be afraid of studying in America. ACLU said that such cases of sudden cancellation of visa have come to light not only in Michigan, but also in states like New Hampshire, Indiana and california and similar cases have been filed there too.
